Rebuilding Trust In Civic Discourse: An Auditable AI-Mediated Infrastructure

Description
Public conversation is increasingly fractured, not just across political lines but now at the level of basic shared reality. This project proposes something more ambitious than better content moderation: a three-part AI infrastructure designed to make civic discourse more trustworthy. AI assistants help individuals articulate their views more clearly and engage more honestly with opposing ones. AI moderators support group discussions by surfacing common ground and encouraging constructive norms. An independent AI auditor layer - drawing on techniques from cryptographic verification - monitors the entire system to ensure it remains neutral, fair, and transparent. The goal is to build the kind of trust infrastructure that healthy public conversation depends on.
