Actionable AI Weather Forecasts for Developing Economies

Description
The world's most advanced AI weather models were built for the world's most data-rich countries, leaving billions of people in developing nations with forecasts that are less accurate, less actionable, and less tailored to the conditions they face. This project seeks to close that gap, extending the frontier of AI-driven weather forecasting and disaster preparedness to the places that need it most. With a focus on monsoon rainfall and heat-stress forecasting, the team has already reached 38 million farmers with improved predictions - and sees a clear path to hundreds of millions more. The goal is not just better forecasts but forecasts that people can actually use: accessible, human-centered, and built for the realities of under-resourced communities.
